About Me
Elaine is a long time resident of the Windsor area, with no formal education in the visual arts. But with encouragement of family and friends she has taken, drawing and painting classes from various local artists for several years.
Elaine enjoys painting both in watercolour and acrylic paints and creates her one of a kind compositions working often from several of her photographs to create a fine work of art.
Using more than your sense of sight really helps to create a mood in your paintings, says Elaine. For this reason she will patiently take photos from different angles and distances. If possible she also listens to sounds, takes in the aroma or feels the texture of the object she wants to paint. She believes that the better you know your subject, the better your opportunity to create a successful painting,
Elaine works up rough sketches and thumbnail paintings on site when able and usually paints in her home studio. Since 2005, her paintings have been displayed in area group shows and in local galleries, and many of her paintings now grace the walls of private homes in both Canada and the U.S.A.
